T-Mobile announces Sidekick LX update

T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) today announced an update for Sidekick LX owners. A host of upgrades is promised to the existing LX users — including video recording, spell checker, play and share capabilities, an alarm clock, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), Bluetooth file transfer support, and more. The over-the-air (OTA) update will start making the rounds this week, so if you own the LX – prepare to boost your device’s capability to the Tony Hawk’s level.

? To get use chatrooms from the sidekick do you just type the name of the room in the space where you would type a buddy’s name when adding?
I checked out the video quality on youtube, doesn’t seem that bad like people make it seem.. If anything it’s better than nothing. It’s just a shame it’s only 20secs :c[.

Hey guys I got my upd8 on da 25th. Yup da video is only 2o secs. Nothin special maan. Da fone shld’ve had dese features a long @$$ tym ago. Smaller fones been had video at least 2yrs ago so it’s a shame da sidekick is just gettin it. Tried watchin videos on da internet. Da ish 8n’t workin so wtf? Dis sux unless I’m doin sum’n wrong.
I live in l.a and I havnt gotten anything, I called and they said they don’t no the date by when evryone will have it

@ Jaime O….idk how knowledgable ya friend is but I think they’re messin wit ya head…every article I’ve read online about the update has the release date as June 25th…there’s no way it could be July becuz there’s ppl that dropped comments on here that have had for a while before July 25th came around
aiight well i live in MD n my friend already got the update; i didnt kno about ne update till yesterday jeje; good thing it comes with an alarm clock cuz i use to use the calendar thingy reminders to wake me up =];

The update according to the tmobile customer care rep i spoke to on the phone 2 days ago,told me by the end of august everyone will have it for sure..

Everyone needs to calm down. Really, you will get the update. So what if you have to wait three days to get it, just calm down.
I got the update yesterday. You need to make sure that your phone is plugged into the charger when you get it because it totally drains the battery life once your phone has finished updating.
– The spell check is really nice since I can’t stand spelling things wrong.
– You can add custom words to the spell check dictionary.
– You can record a voice note for 60 seconds.
– Video is only 20 seconds but I never really cared about video anyway.
– It would be nice if you could watch videos on YouTube, but you can’t.
– They added some new icons and other minor features to everything.
– The phone is faster.
– You can save pictures from the internet.
– You can buy up to 25 ringtones.
– There’s no lag when you move the camera when trying to take a picture.
– Pictures are taken and saved faster.
– The quality of the pictures is better.
– AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! Messengers have new icons.
– There’s an alarm clock.
– When you buy something from the catalog, your phone doesn’t have to restart in order to install the application. It just installs automatically.
– There are new internet browser features.
– There are new address book features like favorties, recent calls, and people that are online now.
– The media player has a new look.
– There’s probably much more that I haven’t yet discovered.
look every1 if like 4000 people got it yesterday like in a hour were all gonna get it dont you c peop[le already saying i got the update i got ok i spoke 2 t-mobile like 10,000 times and i started bicthing but the thing is that the satilite the erea u mabe hasent got the update becuz the wirless and ur phone is still loading the update so before the agust 1 the update is goona popout in ur screen so dont worry
This is beautiful. People fiending over this update like its crack. Btw, there’s no specific date as to when everyone will have it. They could be still sending them out at the end of August.
