The LG Dare became available online this morning at 12am EST. I was able to see it on their website after 9pm PST (as I live in California). There was a glitch however. When it went "live" on their site, some programmer forgot to put in the actual "full retail price or inventory cost" in which sales tax in California are based on (price without any agreement or discounts). As I was about to submit my order, I noticed the sales tax was $8250.00! And was based on the "full retail price" of $99,999.99!!

Luckily it is fixed and as of 8:45am PST, my LG Dare has been ordered (with sales tax of $33.82-- based on a $409.99 full retail price). The two year agreement price is $249. Right now, there is a $50 online discount, which brings it to $199-- and I had the "new in two" discount of $100, bringing it to $99 (plus sales tax).

It's time to upgrade. My old Razr just self destructed (first blue-tooth stopped working, then callers could hear me, but I couldn't hear them... finally an attempted firmware re-flash fried the phone). I'm up for the "new in two" discount, but am 4 days away from the rumored online launch of the Dare. Why can't it be available now!! haha. I will order it the moment I see it is available. Today, I borrowed a friends old Verizon phone that was collecting dust and am using it as a loaner until the Dare arrives. I hope the Dare lives up to it's billing-- and is competitively priced-- otherwise, I may make the jump to the iphone 2 (twice the speed, half the price..yadda yadda yadda), which will be out very soon. Don't let me down Verizon! =)
