Mobile picture books hit Japan

Back in October, we reported that Japanese novelists have found a new medium in mobile phones. Now, the trend goes further and we see a printing company launching its first mobile picture book.
Apparently, these mobile picture books are designed to be read page by page, without much scrolling – just clicking from page to page. There will be both popular children’s titles and original content published and the company behind the project hopes to have 50 titles and 10,000 downloads by September of this year.
Already available titles are available for 100-200 yen (about $1-2) each.
