The government of China has urged the leading mobile operator in the country, China Mobile, to accelerate its TD-SCDMA preparations to ensure the 3G mobile service will be ready for the the Olympic Games.
According to the official Xinhua news agency, China Mobile has been asked to upgrade TD-SCDMA networks, improve TD-SCDMA terminals and expand promotional activity…
And we thought they’ll sort of, kind of managed to skip the full “TD-SCDMA phase,” in favor of quicker LTE implementation. Guess, we were wrong. Still, this doesn’t mean they’re abandoning their 4G plans…
