Over-the-air firmware update for Nokia N78 – v11.043 is here

European Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N78 users will be happy to hear that the latest firmware update for their N-series handset will be taking advantage of S60 3rd Edition’s FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) capability to easily and conveniently update firmware components. That translates in to a PC-free update for Nokia N78 (Euro spec, of course) handsets in the wild. There’s no need for computers, data cables, or update software – simply download the 2MB v11.043 firmware directly to your N78 and execute the update on-the-go.
The 11.043 update won’t be available through the Nokia Software Update application – because there’s no need. Simply navigate through your Nokia N78 to get the update – Menu>Tools>Utilities>Device Manager>Options and check for an update. Once found, your European Nokia N78 will prompt you through the update process.
Go forth and update, lucky European N78 users. Those of you without a European N78 will just have to be happy that you even have the option to buy a Nokia N78.

Would anyone know if one would have to make adjustments to the phone (ie: application installation, and general settings) after utilizing the OTA update feature?

I am using this phone in Pakistan. I am having the display lightout problem, i.e the lightout reverts back to 5sec no matter whatever i do. Can i install this update??? will it rectify my problem???

i buy new nokia 78 & the next day i update its software to v12 & its disappoint me there is a long list of bugs in it & the rotation of opening of phots & camera also gone now its simply like nokia n73 what the hell it is when ever i open the loudspeaker it says handset activated. then i update it to V20 its also have many bugs now i go to nokia care & reinstall it to v10 but still i dnt have the options as its in 1st time of purchase when i opn the gally its simply open without roating & same is the case with camera..help me is there any option in it to rotate the screen while opening the photos & Camera i live in pakistan
every1 talks about this new firmware, but I don’t c a link to download it, WTF!
