Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot to use Wayfinder’s software for location-based services

WayfinderWayfinder is all proud to announce it’s their software that will come pre-loaded with the Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE)’s 8 megapixel camera-equipped C905 Cyber-shot phone.

On the device, Wayfinder offers:

  • Pre-installed free 3-month trial version of Wayfinder Navigator, which supports GPS mapping in over 150 countries, and voice guided turn-by-turn navigation in over 50 countries and over 20 languages. In addition, Power Search feature allows users to access selected local directories and POI databases.
  • Wayfinder Active (introduction offer - free download) - personal companion for planning outdoor activities.
  • Wayfinder Earth (available through free download) - provides users with free maps of the world and allows local storing of maps the phone, as well as sharing user’s location on Facebook with Wayfinder LocateMate.
  • Wayfinder SpeedAlert (not free) - features both visual and audible speed camera and speed warnings. Over 22,000 speed cameras in 22 countries across Europe are on the list, plus the Community feature gives information about ongoing police controls.

Again, the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot will be available in selected markets from Q4 2008.
