Powerset is the best iPhone-optimized Wikipedia

This is hardly a hot news, but it’s ultra useful for the iPhone/iPod Touch owners. Powerset is the best iPhone-optimized Wikipedia. Period.

Unlike other Wikipedia services optimized for Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s handset, not only can you search Wikipedia articles with Powerset and read them optimized for the iPhone/iPod Touch’s scree, but you can also find the exact passage that pertains to the search query. Sure, iPhone has a large screen, but Wikipedia articles can be quite heavy, too, and browsing through them can be a pain from time to time. That’s why this is a killer feature, or at least that’s my take.

Enough rant. Point Safari on your iPhone/iPod Touch to powerset.com and see for yourself what I’m talking about. Alternatively, you may want to see Powerset in action prior to visiting the site. A short demo video follows after the jump…

That’s odd. Jimmy Wales said he was not impressed with Powerset and semantic web. I thought everything Jimbo says is the truth?

  2. dusanb says:

I’m not talking about their search product here. Just about their iPhone-optimized Wikipedia page.
