Apple iPhone Remote from AppStoreAs expected, the AppStore is showing Apple’s take on an iPhone-as-remote-control application. Dubbed, “Remote” (iTunes link), the native application, available through the AppStore gives users the ability to control iTunes directly through their iPhone.

Remote” is available for free and requires that your iPhone and iTunes-computer are hooked up to the same WiFi network. From there, the iPhone application automatically finds your iTunes instance and gives you full reign over music playback, allows you to view album art, and even allows you to control your AirTunes speakers while browsing your entire iTunes library.

It’s everything we expected it to be, and now that it’s finally here, all you need to start using it is an iPhone 3G or an iPhone with the new iPhone 2.0 OS installed. So, what are you waiting for? Oh, an iPhone 3G. That’s right. Sorry.
