Sidekick Gekko/Gecco/Aspen to be branded as Sidekick 2008?

The latest rumor regarding the oft-speculated Sidekick Gekko/Gecco/Aspen (depending on which particular rumor you’re thinking about) comes to us wrapped in completely unsubstantiated packaging.
Word on the street is that the Sidekick Gekko will be called the “Sidekick 2008″ when it’s released on T-Mobile (NYSE: DT)’s network. As expected, some leaked pictures show the Sidekick Gekko sporting a variety of swappable color-panels, reminiscent of the Sidekick iD.
But, why would T-Mobile choose to name its latest HipTop in deference to the year of its launch? Beats us. But, 2008 is halfway over, so the Sidekick 2008 had better launch soon - perhaps later this month?

This is just stupid hype tmoblie tries to build u on sidekicks. Its like the sk id, a crappy cheaper version of the sidekick 3. This time we get a crappier version of the lx. 6 more months before a new sk comes out that will be worth buying
this phone looks really awesome !! i personally think it is better than the LX. ive done a lot of research on this phone and i think im making my way to buying it !! theres video and a new 2.0 megapixel camera !! on the down side the screen is slightly smaller than the LX . the LX scrfeen size is said to be 3inches and the new Sidekick 2008 screen size is said to be 2.6 inches ; not that much of a difference i think !!if you ask me ; i think you should buy this phone ; its cheaper and a lot better than the LX !!
I HAVE DA FONE, AND ITS SO SEXC. ONLY PROBLEM IS DAT IT DOESN’T HAVE ?? FLASH 4 DA CAMERA. BUT DA PHONE IS NICE AND SMALL AND IM GLAD I HAVE IT. ITS WORTH IT.
The phone has 128mb of memory vs 64 on the lx. The screen although smaller has the same resolution and looks tighter and clearer as a result. The camera of course is better and the form factor is great.
From a specs standpoint this is not a downgrade. Coming from an lx I can tell you first had losing the flash was no loss as it was pretty much a waste anyways. The 2MP camera is much better flash or no flash.
my sister has it & i have to admit its completely worth the price it comes with too shells a black one & a green one. its soo small & comfortable i am LX user myself & i gotta say her phones wayyyyy bbbetttterrr! :]
This sidekick better not blow like the LX or ID!!!
I’m getting this phone as a upgrade for my sidekick 3 and I have 2 say I’m so excited… I can’t wait 2 ger this phone…
I really like the fact that I can really make it my own…
even tho the screen isn’t as big as the LX screen it really doesn’t matter 2 anyway…
also this phone doesn’t have flash but the flash on the sidekick 3 isn’t that great anyway…
everytime I try 2 take a pic in the dark with the flash on it comes out a greenish yellow color… so no flash doesn’t matter…
imma get the sidekick 2008 and use it with my at&t sim and im gonna enjoy it so much…. just have to buy the phone full price, the only thing that sucks bout that
I’ve been a user of sidekicks since the sk3 came out a couple years ago. I’ve never had the LX but I’ve had the sk3, ID, and slide. I think this phone is going to be a great upgrade. It seems to be thinner, lighter, faster and more powerful than the LX is and everyone who says it sucks, obviously is just hating because their phone isn’t the new one

It has a 2.0megapix camera w/ video record features & the sklxthemes.com works on the 2008 gekko as well…so i love love looooove this phone!!!
If you were with SunCom and had a HIPTOP 2 phone, you can call T-Mobile’s customer service and tell them you have a hiptop and the features don’t work and they’ll send you A FREE GEKKO 2008 SIDEKICK phone! AND if you lost your stuff (like ringbacks, ringtones, etc.) theyll give you $20 credit on your bill towards that stuff also.
I waited an hour and 42 minutes though before I got someone to take my address and send me my phone. Then I waited 4 days for UPS to ship my phone to me.

Oh yeah..My 2008 sidekick came with the 512mb memory card! to whomever posted a comment about the small 128mb…you’re wrong.
I want to know, can I buy the Sidekick Gekko or PV-250, without T-mobile? I mean, I want to buy it without contracts and rebates.. I live in Georgia. perhaps you know about this country. I really want Sidekick very much! And I want to know, how much do they cost without contract with T-mobile or some other operators, if I can buy it in America (and then send it to Georgia) because I can’t buy it here. And if it works here on GSM operators. please tell me.

I have the 08 it good and everything the soundprofile is not that loud tho but that ok I like it tho it my baby lmbo =D
