Palm Treo 800w goes live on Sprint’s website

Sprint Palm Treo 800wJust in time to boost telesales and cash in on the dearth of non-iPhone related news, Sprint (NYSE: S) has launched online sales of its hotly-anticipated Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Treo 800w. With Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, GPS, WiFi (with a dedicated toggle switch), and EVDO Rev. A tucked under its 320×320 touchscreen display, the Palm Treo 800w is Palm’s latest attempt to retake at least a portion of their once considerable smartphone market share.

The Palm Treo is slimmer, sleeker, and more power-packed than any of its Treo predecessors. And, without that unsightly antenna stub mucking up an otherwise clean-design, the Palm Treo 800w is exactly what we were looking for in a next-generation Palm smartphone. Unfortunately, that recessed touchscreen isn’t exactly up to date with the competition.

Sprint is offering the Palm Treo 800w at the expected price of $249.99 after 2-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate are applied.

  1. Sprint overcharged my small (US) company for over $50,000.00. We caught them doing it and now they refuse to refund the over-payments. You can read the full story at http://www.sprint-really-sucks.com

I also wrote an open letter to Dan Hesse the Chairman and CEO of Sprint Nextel. It is a good read so please consider reading the letter.

I’m debating if I should ask to have my mogul switched to the 800w. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
