Sony Ericsson J132 to come with standard 3.5mm headphone jack?

I’m not sure should we trust the image above or not, but apparently the upcoming low-end Sony Ericsson J132 will come with the standard 3.5 headphone jack. Maybe it’s me, but I do want to believe the Swedish-Japanese company will finally opt for the logical way and join other handset makers which have been shipping phones with 3.5mm audio jack for years.

A month ago when it was announced, Sony Ericsson hasn’t mentioned such a feature in the official release. It’s good to see them going this way, and we can only hope they’ll do the same thing with all of the upcoming Walkman phones. After all, it’s only natural to sell music-centric phones with standard 3.5 headphone jack, don’t you think?

This is a must step from S/// if they wanna compete against the music phones from Nokia. I always liked the design, menu and features of S///, but the Headset port REALLY annoyed me a lot and kept me away from buying this or another phone. So glad news for all who feel the same way I do!!!

Hi! You can trust this image in spite of some strange style of photo :)

I can provide more information for you and send some photos with more details

Interesting. They also seem to have the standard USB port next to the headphone connector. I wrote to SE about this last year. Looks like they’re finally getting some sense knocked into their heads and adapting to standards. I think the Xperia XI also comes with a standard headphone socket, but I’m not sure.

Yes, you is right – it’s realy mini-USB and 3.5mm headphone connector. Also you absolutly right about X1 – this model will be equiped standard headphone connector and mini-usb socket.

And I can say that use fast-port in some Walkman models is realy justify. I listened some models with Clear Audio headphone and I don’t think that any standard earphone can provide such sound quality :)

about sound quality in previous comment – it’s IMHO only!

SE will announce several Walkman devices tomorrow, and, judging from early leaked shots, none of them feature 3.5mm jacks. They must love losing money.

In the past, I decided to buy one Sony Ericsson phone because of its features and design. There was one thing that made me decided against it. The lack of 3.5mm headphone slot. So, until SE make a phone with 3.5mm headphone slot, I will stay away from it.
