CheckWord Keeps Scrabble Players Honest - iPhone Application Checks Scrabble Words

If there’s one thing you can count on while playing Scrabble is that someone will inevitably try to pass off a legit-sounding word as valid. But, unless your vocabulary is up to dictionary-levels, you’re going to need to look up the word to prove your shady opponent wrong. Too bad most of us are too lazy or apathetic to find a dictionary and thumb-through the pages whilst singing the alphabet in your head (you know you do it too).

Never again. With CheckWord, you can quickly look up any questionable word before challenging the player, saving you time and embarrassment in front of your elite Scrabble-friends. As Doc Macenstein points out, CheckWord references either the TWL (Tournament Word List) Dictionary or the SOWPODS international Scrabble word list to verify a word’s validity. But, it won’t help you figure out what to say to the cute Scrabble-buddy of yours that you’ve had a crush on since high school.
