Yeah, we knew this is coming. With the i740 smartphone, Samsung is targeting mid-range phone buyers who may have not used smartphone in the past and/or emerging markets — it was officially announced in Ukraine, after all.
The Windows Mobile 6.1 powered device sports a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera, built-in GPS receiver, FM radio, Bluetooth, and a microSD memory expansion slot. There’s a tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/GPRS radio on board, but the lack of 3G and WiFi connectivity will be a deal breaker for many of the existing smartphone users, who take those two features for granted — or at least I do. Still, for around 285 EUR you can’t expect much more, can you?
