I use my phone to surf the web at work and on the go, sometimes I even use it at home instead of my computer. I spend more time texting and surfing than I actually do talking on my phone. I use google maps and Windows live for directions and gps. I don’t go anywhere without my phone.
Opera 9.5 will help me because I can’t use IE to access my bank account and I would like to be able to access my my account while I am not at home. I would also like to be able to browse some of my favorite sites without getting the mobile version. You can’t really access yahoo sports on Mobile IE.

Lets see here! I own a Palm Centro smartphone and I would say my main use is definitly internet! I have accounts on myspace, deviant art, yahoo, google, HERE, etc. that I check daily on my phone. The only problem is that I have tried and downloaded Opera Mini before on my phone and I get this error that sayes, “Please ensure that IBM’s WebSphere Micro Environment Java VM is installed” No idea what that means so unfortunately I haven’t been able to use and version of the app. I would love to have it because all the reading I’ve done on it suggests that it had a full html browser. I would love to have a feature like that so I can view the web in a more crisp sort of way. If by any chance I do win this, can you please let me know how to fix this error?

I use my phone for calendar, contact, note, task, and email syncing. I honestly believe that Opera Mobile will make me happy, mainly due to my experience using it on my Archos, it’s amazing on it and wish to try it out on my mobile. I’ve tried the mini, and it’s ok, but I want to dive into the mobile version.

  21. vincent montgomery says:

I use my mobile device (ATT Tilt) for just about anything I can and at any chance I get. I use it to filter my calls and stay connected with friends, family, and coworkers. If you don’t have my cell number or email you’ll won’t get a hold of me because I never answer my home phone. My home phone is a solicitation land mine as it is a cheap, low end model so it has no caller id. I also use my device for messaging; texting, email, and the almighty, very inappropriate yet absolutely hilarious MMS. I’m sure everyone has received one or two of these. The organizational apps are something that I take use daily. I use the calendar to remember appointments, the alarm clock wakes me up on time, and the calculator helps me with finances. I also use my mobile fo multmedia play back. My device has a 2GB card in it which holds my music, photos, and videos. My phone is also my camera though I don’t use it often I do use it in certain situations. I use it mainly for fun(ny) times with family and friends. I used it in a more serious sitaution when I got rear ended a few months ago. Web browsing is mainly what use my Tilt for. Surfin’ the net makes up about 60% of my mobile use pie chart. Last, but not least I use it for LBS. Windows live search make practically makes 411 obsolete. On top of that my devices gps takes me to the door step of anything I’am looking for. My mobile device is my everything device. Ipod $150, digital camera $200, PDA $300, PND $350, all of these in one device priceless. A license for Opera 9.5 would certainly make my mobile day, especially if it were free.

I use my Dash for surfing the web, e-mail, games and Opera kicks a** over PIE. I’m using Opera mini now. Intomobile rocks, but it would supremely rock if I won this!

  24. Eclecticgirl says:

I use my phone to surf the web (using it right now to post this message), text and play games. That’s pretty much it. Every blue moon I may use it as a phone.
Hmm, I don’t really know what opera mobile is and I probably don’t need it but I want it soo badly! Winning it would make my life better as I’d finally be able to say that I won something before :-) lolz

  25. PineRoot says:

It’s great to have gotten the lic. for Opera Mobile. So far it’s been great,I dl’ed the beta,it is awsome. I love the tabs, I’m still messing around with it but so far it’s good. Only one downside…it’s memory intensive…can’t wait for the official release of 9.5
Thanks Will and the whole Into Mobile team.

  26. Ravindra says:

    I’d like to have one

  27. Cheung Yuen Wong says:

What they’ve been promoting heavily in Opera 9.5 for mobile is the widgets.

I do use the Nokia’s standalone widsets, but it would be interesting and but mostly practical to have that integrated inside the webbrowser itself.

The support for uploading pictures and files to other sites is also welcomed as this will give one access from one application which is great. Much less hassle and getting more things done.

I just hope they haven’t moved too far away from their core functionality such as they webbrowsing. I’ve used Opera 8.65 before, but thought it was really bad when it came to caching, not to talk about loading pages.
In fact I got better loading speed by using the S60 browser, which was a great disappointment for me.
(I even found Opera Mini doing the job better).

Before the S60 3rd edition I also used Opera Mobile but I found that the NetFront browser was superior here also.

I do feel that maybe I’m a bit stingy here, but this is only based on my own previous experiences.

That being said I really hope they’ve fixed these issues in Opera Mobile 9.5
That way they can really prove me wrong.

  29. Shane says:

I use my Sprint Touch as my primary internet connection and thus, 99% of my time surfing the web is directly through my phone. With Opera 9.5 mobile, we just may finally be seeing a “real” web browser for mobiles and so winning would help me out tremendously as at this point anything is better than PIE! I’ve tried the 9.5 beta and only disappointment is the lack of “Fit to Screen” mode that Opera used to do so well. Here’s to hope!

  30. Maskar says:

Opera Mobile Browser is really Great, i wish to win :)

  31. cellie says:

I work in a mortuary, and I use my Sprint Mogul for everything. I have several programs and services that I use to help me with my work. I even use to phone to go online and show my families pictures of caskets. If I need to contact another mortuary out of state, I go online to search for one. I think using Opera 9 would be extremely helpful in many ways.

  48. vincent says:

I have been using the beta since it was first released. The beta is a little rough around the edges, but it still beats the pants off any browser out there on the winmo platform. Especially since so few of us have been able to experience the all, but nonexistent Skyfire beta. I have read several comments complaining about 9.5. MSMOBILES.com posted an article about the browser being unusable. Other individuals are saying that 9.5 is a ram hog. Others say Netfront and mini 4.1 are better. One person said to wait for Microsot’s release of PIE based on the IE6 rendering engine. The only thing I would like to say to these comments is Opera 9.5 is a beta people! It is supposed to be slow, buggy, and in some if not most cases a pain to use. On top of that it hasn’t even been out for 7 days. The final subject I would like to address is the horrific resource demands of 9.5. First, if you’re running this browser on a 64MB equipped device I feel your pain. Second, there are a couple of things you can do to control the memory Dracula that 9.5 truly is. you can delete your cache regularly. An alternative to such a tedious task is to move the cache to your storage card. WMEXPERTS.com has posted how to instructions on their site. I decided to go with the latter method and must say I am quite pleased. Opera 9.5 needs about 8-10MB just to run properly. Combine that with its cache being stored to a device and you’re en route to RAM anorexia. I’m sure Opera will address any issues and deliver a well polished, good looking product like always, so don’t fret or panic yet, just be patient. Oh and Intomobile, I am losing my patience over my 9.5 license. Where is it? Just kiddin’! :)

  49. Ben Coleman says:

I use my mobile phone to do just about everything I that I can do from my home computer, check emails, surf the web, check movie times, and paying bills. I even installed mmetrics to monitor my internet usage, hey might as well make get paid to use the net on my phone. I think opera 9.5 would be a great addition to my phone that help me get full pages at a faster rate, so that I can read your site even easier, and with all those widgets who knows what I’ll find.

  50. JD says:

    *&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
In addition to working full time, I am also a full time student. I think that Opera 9.5 would help me by making it easier to go online to my classes and actually be able to view the sites the way they are supposed to be seen. Also the convenience of being able to do this without having to sit at a computer to check my assignments.
