T-Mobile Sidekick LX OTA update will enable video recording and playback [update]

As expected, Boy Genius got his hands on the T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) Sidekick LX OTA update. BGR is confirming that, in addition to spell checker, play and share capabilities, an alarm clock, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), Bluetooth file transfer support, the Sidekick LX OTA (otherwise known as an “update”) does indeed enable video recording and playback.
For you Sidekick LX owners out there, try to stay calm as the update is rolled out. In the meantime, enjoy the screenshots of the new Sidekick LX UI over at BGR.

It looks like the OTA update is finally starting to be rolled out to the masses. If you still haven’t gotten the update, just keep waiting. The Sidekick LX OTA update is random and will be delivered to your HipTop by the end of August (or so we hear).

Wow, Anonymous, “I better have that mother fucker today” xD haha, I still haven’t gotten it yet, I was getting all hopeful listening to my music last night, switched out my 128 MB microSD for a 1GB, so when I get the upsate I can put my Boondocks and Family Guy Eps on my SK, they’re about 130MB each so, that’s about 10 eps or so, 7 cause I still want my music and pics and pdfs and have space for my own vids, I just might need to get a 2GB chip. Still crossing my fingers… oh, and can the SK view Gif? I put some in my DCIM folder and they didn’t show up. what’s that about? and is the vid rec really 20 secs?

(Should of though)… and about flirting with customer service with tmobile. that’s is true…

ive had freakin t-mobile sense it was VOICESTREAM AND IVE HAD ALL SIDEKICKS SINCE THE COLOR WAS OUT AND I PAY MY BILL EVERY FREAKIN MONTH AND THIS DAMN COMPANY CANNOT SUPPLY ME WITH THE UPDATE THEY PROBALY STILL IN BUSINESS CUZ OF ME I HAVE A 240 BILL EVERY MONTH SENSE VOICESTREAM HOW A 2DAY SIDEKICK LX GUY GET THIS NO SENSE AT ALL

The OTA update will come when it does, its RANDOM and you should have it some time this week. And it makes no difference if you have been a sk user since 2 days or 2 years. I agree with xJASONx here. Everyone here should know that the update is random and its been said SEVERAL times. Just relax and have patience. It’s not like your phone can’t make a call without it and that’s probably why you guys got your phones in the first place. And also the typing thing is annoying as I got into an arguement with Anonymous about earlier up the comment table.
Just calm down and wait, it shall come. If you guys are impatient aobut it, it will seem longer before you get it. Get on with your lives and do things more productive rahter then ranting about it and it will come before you know it!

I’m waiting patiently for my update. I got the old update on my old lx. Then my nephew threw that sidekick in the water. So I had to purchase a new one because I didn’t have insurance. I still don’t have the old OTA with the email updates. Siiiiiigggghhhh. I feel like a kid wating for santa to come.

the ota is coming. i just really really hate the damn wait. i have an lx and i live in houston texas. i dont know anybody that has gotten the ota and it sux that tmobile is making us wait for an ota the only adds video to a shit camera. id rather buy a damn gecco when it comes out. the camera sux on these damn things but its still a great phone. i just dont like the shit camera.
