A new firmware version is available for Samsung Instinct. Apparently, the update will affect both the base code as well as tweak several of the apps.
First of all, users will notice increased audio volume when using Bluetooth headsets/car kits, as well as improved stability of the phone’s signal and battery indicators. As for the affected apps, browser is improved, a saved image can be set as the background wallpaper and recurring appointments are supported in the calendar…
To update your Instinct, go to “Menu” -> “Settings” -> “General,” choose “Update Phone,” and take it from there.
Later in the year, Samsung will release a new, apparently more significant update for the Instinct.

Saved pics as backgrounds? could we not always do that? I’m lost on this one….do they mean where all the applications are? can we change it from that gray to whatever? cause if so I can’t find out how…
Does this mean you can change menu, the one that is always ON. After you turn on the phone your background gets replaced to the stupid touch menu and you never see your background again. Also, it would be nice to have a least, a couple of different style menus to choose from rather then the single one only.
This phone Stinks, No PDF or TIF reader on it or available. Very hard to find the access to the Applications folder. AND THERE IS NO UPDATE PHONE OPTION it says update SOFTWARE! Everybody thinks they are a expert on the net.
