Cynthia, be realistic. In Canadian terms this phone is a pretty good option. For me personally Iphone would cost $100-200 more plus, not that I think Bell has great service, the plans and extras cost less comparing to Rogers. But yes, I agree the wireless market is in very bad shape comparing to most other countries.

I got this gadget last week (Toronto) and I think it's a fair deal - relatively inexpensive and it is still a new generation phone. Yes, I'm having certain probs with the email as my yahoo account can be accessed only through the web mobile for free but no notification or through the MSN/email application which is ~$10/mnth (don't have it and have no intention to pay for it so far). There's an option at yahoo as forwarding (btw, all default emailing is going by Bell's email account ex. 'you phone number'@txt.bell.ca) which didn't work already at confirmation step because of truncation. It is just very sad that Bell couldn't provide a convenient way of using emails while the device is totally capable.

well, i've been anticipating the instinct coming to canada for some time now, and i have to say that i'm slightly disappointed.....not only did i know more about the phone than the sales person, but she tried selling me on the fact that we have better technology than the US which is why it takes longer to get to canada...one of the highlights of the phone was the visual voice mail - which 2 of the reps had no idea what i was talking about!! how is that better technology when we can't even compare to our state side neighbours??? not only that, but we don't even get the battery charger for the 2nd battery *no doubt that will be an extra accessory that we have to pay for* so what is really the point of having it, if we're going to be hooked up to the wall constantly charging the phone? i'm still on the fence as to whether or not i'm going to invest in this phone as i'm not totally convinced, and slightly upset that we're being ripped off....cause honestly, the pricing isn't that great either...
