Rogers’ Home Calling Zone becomes Talkspot

Canada’s Rogers (NYSE: RCI) Wireless is renaming its in-home WiFi calling service (think T-Mobile (NYSE: DT)’s HotSpot@Home) from Home Calling Zone to Talkspot. The much-easier-to-remember name is the only change you’ll see. Scrap that, if you’re not visiting Rogers’ stores or look at their ads, you won’t even see that. It’s just another way to trick new user to sign-up for the service. Actually it’s not a trick, we love in-home WiFi calling – it saves money and actually makes you go beyond pure BitTorrent-ing. Did I just said BitTorrent? Stop reading here, sign-up for the service — you’re going to love it!
Anyway, as I’ve just said, Rogers’ offering remains the same and so does the two phones they’re pushing with the service – the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Pearl and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 6086… More information about Talkspot is available from here.
