Samsung Messager lands on MetroPCS; Heavy texters rejoice!

Samsung has recently announced the Samsung Messager aka SCH-r450 for MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS). According to the official release and common sense I might add, the full slide-out QWERTY-keyboard equipped device is “a great fit for people who love text messaging.”
Other specs include a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2.1-inch 176X220 pixels screen, stereo Bluetooth support, speakerphone, “Advanced Voice Recognition,” and a microSD memory expansion slot. As for the pre-installed apps, aside from the standard mobile apps (calculator, calendar, contacts, etc), the Messager comes pre-loaded with music player, IM and email client. Size wise, it measures 4.4×2.0×0.7 inches and you can get more information from MetroPCS’ website.

I’ve got my phone in Florida and now I moved to El Paso, TX, I haven’t been able to connect to the internet, can someone tell me what to type on “reply-to address” “outgoing mail server” “outgoing mail server port” “incoming mail server” , and “incoming mail server port”? I am using windows.live.mobile and I think is POP3 mail server type. And about downloading picture mail, I can’t open any picture nor send them either. Please, help me, I will appreciate it.

my messenger is stuck on “sending cancled” txt msg. It was in my pocket and when I reached for it I hit something and now it is stuck. can anyone help?
This phone isn’t the best but it has it’s perks.I quess the major problem i have with this phone is that I can’t attach a ringtone to a text message. I love to send pictures and attach music to my friends and I’m not able to do that. If anyone knows how please holla back !!!

Hi I love this phone it is excellent only problem is I cannot turn off silent mode can any one help. As well as I have been downloading free ringtones from phone zoo .com alot of them i might add. just to help everone out. so can someone please tell me how to turn off silent mode. Ps if you cannot find on phone zoo the type of phone you have type in you have a nokia 5300 and it works the same way.

I just bout this phone today and its making me think i shouldnt have bought this thing its to expensive to be so damn hard. I cant use fun for mobile but i could on my stupid 50 dolla phone that makes no sence to me im going crazy i just wanna have some ring tones and i dont wanna do it the boot leg way i just wanna down load them bitches. im gettin pissed of and it takes way to long to recive pics from sprint users and it wont let me send text to t mobile users this phone is pissing me off….

u can buy the fone ALL of us r talking about for about $230 but they sell one that looks just like the one that ALL of us r talking about in metropcs its like a box form but the new one that ALL of us r talking about is way better. =] oh by the way the box form one cost about $180 and you cant find it on the metro page, only if u go to the the store. =] hope it helped
Hold down # key this will place the phone in/out of silent mode.
This phone has been the best purchase I have made in a long time. I haven’t got the mirco chip yet and I’m sure I will fall in love with this phone even more when I do get it. The only problem I had was the silent mode, it really annoyed me until I read that you can hold the # a couple seconds to enter and exit it. I now find that to be a very nice option. So no complaints with this so thus far!!

the font is sooooooooooooooooo BIG for me.. i mean the texting thingy..
is thur a way that i can change the text font??

This phone was working perfectly, until this afternoon. The screen went white and the top in bold underlined words it says “USB Download Mode” and i can’t do anything with my phone, call, text, it doesn’t even turn off.
No matter what buttons i press the screen just stays the same.
Can someone please help me?

I love this phone. I have come to terms with some of the things I want it to do and it can’t, but right now I have a dilemma. I don’t know what happened, but now anytime I click on ringtones it resets. I can’t access my ringtones and this really sucks. I have tried everything. I have taken out the battery, turned it off, hooked it up to the comp, went into through different channels and nothing. Anyone got any ideas besides exchanging for a new one?

I have T-mobile but I am paying to much money and want to switch to metro-pcs and I want the Samsung messeger but I need to know if that phone is compatible with Mac OS X computer cause I still want to able to download my music and files using my computer.. Does anybody can tell that information?

I bought th efone from metro pcs and everything is fine its just it wont let me get free ringtones or photos from phonezoo.com or myxer.com idk why

only….connect your phone you will see a window pop up click on the icon view files.
now! you will see the file inside your phone, images, music, ring tones etc etc…don’t touch anything in this window…keep it open.
Now! go to start in the left of your screen, click on my music…. if you don’t see my music on that window… go to your documents you will find it there…remember what you looking for is your music or music…go into the music file… OK!!! now you have 2 windows open for better view tile the windows horizontally …
NOTE: you can tile windows by placing mouse on toolbar on the bottom of the screen and then right click on it…

this step is not necessary but it is used full…
now!!!! that you see 2 windows open ….drag the song you want by right clicking on it and hold until place in top of the file my music on the phone window …it is simple …do the same for ringtones drag your music on the ring tone file and you are done.

to get the metro pcs messanger r450 out of silent mode simply hold down the pound sign.
if your trying to put songs from the computer it WILL NOT work if its a wmp (window media player) has to be an mp3 file. i get all my songs from jamglue.com. and also if you want to download ringtones straight from the phone you can go to either myxer.com or funformobile.com its really very easy i love this phone. i also agree with pat if you want an iphone then go buy one. dont buy one from metro and expect it to wirk as if you went out and got it from verizon or something..

I have the Samsung r450 and you CAN get ringtones but first you need the micro sd card (about $18 for a 2 gig at WalMart),it goes in a slot under the battery cover. Then format the card under memory settings in the phone. Plug in the cord that came with the phone,and open ‘my computer’ and find the new letter drive and open it, it will say my images, my ringtones etc.
You can then go to mytinyphone or wherever and save ringtones to your pc and then drag them into the ringtones folder. Mine only work in the ringtones folder for some reason it wont show in the my sounds folder. This is a very nice phone and hopefully this will help.

Well after messing around with my hone for a couple hours I figured a way to get free ringtones without the memory card. First save the ringtone to your computer. Then text your email from ur phone then look at the email on your computer. Reply to it and then just set the ringtone as an attachment. then when you get the text just save it to your phone. Presto!
does anyone know where to get free games for the samsung sch r450. it says it is noy java supported (which most games are)it is brew supported.?
OK, can anyone tellme how to turn on java in my web browser. Everytime I go to my mail…It wont let me log in and tells me to enable java…I have tried doing it through the browser settings, and advanced setting, and nothing….someone help me before i throw my phone at a puppy!!!
