Google (NSDQ: GOOG) is paying more attention to the Symbian S60 devices. I never realized why it took them so long to optimize some of their services (Picasa Web Albums) for S60, when we know there are few times more S60 devices out there than any other smartphones.
Anyway, the search giant has announced that it has made its social network, orkut, sing along with Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Samsung S60 phones. The new mobile website is optimized to work with Webkit-based S60 browser, meaning that it uses JavaScript/AJAX to provide users with better experience. As a matter of fact, new features are also included in the mix, allowing users to upload their photos, browse picture galleries, perform click-to-calls and quick friend searches.
No software is need to be installed in order to access the optimized-for-S60 orkut. Simply point your S60 browser to m.orkut.com and take it from there.
