Samsung E200 Eco

Just in time for the Olympics, Samsung has unveiled a new eco-friendly phone – E200 Eco. The entry-level candybar is designed for those people who: a) care about the ecology (who doesn’t these days), and b) don’t look for anything fancy, but for a simply phone that can also be used as an MP3 player. That being said, the Samsung E200 Eco sports a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, and we guess Bluetooth support and a microSD slot are also on board (no word on those two, though).

However, what’s significant about the device is that its parts were made from bioplastics (materials extracted from corn) and the entire case is bioplastic. Plus, let’s not forget that the whole packaging is made from recycled materials.

The E200 Eco will be available in Europe next month, while the American release date is not known at this stage.

Finally, before I let you go, you should know this isn’t Samsung’s first eco-friendly phone. Back in June, we saw the Korean giant releasing two other models – the W510 and F268.
