UK: O2 snaffles 4000 business subs from Vodafone and Orange

O2UK has taken on 4000 business subs from Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) and Orange after winning a contract with Homeserve Plc, which is a home emergency provider. The Operator will run voice and data in a three year deal, which includes a VPN to help reduce call costs.
Apparently O2 (NYSE: TEF)’s coverage was a major factor in it’s win. I would imagine the rollout of in-the-field data solutions probabl weighed in there too, given the requirement for field engineers to carry almost full PC functionality with them. The ability to enter/send data, process card transactions, and the print receipts on-the-fly is a major upside to getting the right wireless provider and solution.
