Palm Treo Pro gets all official

We certainly knew this is coming. Today Palm (NSDQ: PALM) officially announced the Treo Pro, the best yet Windows Mobile Treo smartphone.
You know the specs, but it’s worth repeating, nonetheless. Everything a business user could need is on board with the Treo Pro — including GPS, 2 megapixel camera (why not more), WiFi, 320×320 pixel touchscreen, HSDPA, Bluetooth, microSD memory slot, and much more. The official Treo Pro website has more information as well as some cool images of the device.
As for the availability, the Treo Pro will be available in September in Europe through Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) and O2 (NYSE: TEF), and in Australia through Telstra. In the United States, Palm’s latest smartphone will be available unlocked and unsubsidized for a suggested retail price of $549. No U.S. carrier partners were announced, yet.

If this came with a Palm OS, I would be standing in line to get this, particularly since it comes unlocked. (I am with Suncom and unlocked GSM phones are the way to go there.) With the Windows OS, I will wait….and wait…..to replace my Treo 680 (which replaced my 650)….
Love the Palm OS and the Palm Treo phones. Keep up the good work! (Just add the Palm OS, guys.)
I agree, Palm OS FTW!
The Wall Street Journal will have an article in tomorrow’s paper about the Pro:

I e-mailed the author to see if he had any reliable info about the Palm OS being added in a few months.
I’ve seen a lot of people complain on forums that the screen size is too small.. WTF? I think this phone looks great and will do great.. Palm deserves a good comeback!
There’s nothing wrong w/ a good comeback, but lets keep in mind that RIM is a Canadian company so in reality we all want Blackberries to out sell Palm’s :0)
RIM (Research in Motion) sucks! Hurray to Palm treo pro
