The 9th annual Mobile Phone Throwing World Championships were held in the Estonian town of Narva. This was in fact the first time the contest was held outside Finland, we are told. Nothing unusual so far you might think….

Timmo Lilium won the men’s category with a throw of 85 meters, and Valeria Kadorova taking the women’s category with a throw of 41 meters. A twelve year old from Finland, Riku Kankkunen won the children’s category with a throw of 55 meters.

Again, nothing too odd about that…..

However in the freestyle category, a dog called Cara won after spitting (?) the phone a full 30cm, in a category where it’s only the “style” that matters.

OK, hold on a minute – a dog spat a phone 30cm and won a competition? There are just too many things that don’t compute in that sentence!! Anyway, the 10th Mobile Phone Throwing World Championships next year returns to Finland and will be held in Savonlinna region Kesämaa.

He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to 'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life!
