We’re used to hearing about batteries in mobile phones catching fire and causing bodily injury, but it’s not too often that we hear about cellphone wall-chargers going up in flames.
In what could be the first mobile home fire related to defective wall-charger, the Delaware Online is reporting that just such a fire caused $30,000 in damage to a mobile home near Millsboro. Fortunately, no one was home when the fire broke out. Authorities are saying that the “fire was caused by a malfunctioning cell phone charger that ignited the wall covering in a bedroom.”
Let this be a lesson to all you mobile phone enthusiasts with a flair for wall-paper. Unplug that cellphone charger from your paper-covered wall before leaving home.
