Motorola Q11 set to succeed Q9?

By Will Park on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 at 12:37 PM PST In Devices, Motorola, Rumors, Windows Mobile

It looks like Motorola (NYSE: MOT) is setting up its Motorola Q11 as the Windows Mobile 6.1-powered successor to the Motorola Q9. A product filing from the Bluetooth SIG describes with little detail a new Motorola handset bearing the Motorola Q11 moniker and apparently running Windows Mobile 6.1.

Motorola Q11 Alexander Atila at the Bluetooth SIG

The Bluetooth SIG is rarely good for more than a model name and a few general features on upcoming mobile phones, and this latest listing is no different. The Motorola Q11 will likely be based on the awkward-looking Motorola Alexander that we spied a few weeks back. But, with a little luck, Motorola will see to it that the Motorola Q11 makes use of the best features of in the Motorola Alexander but adopts a sleeker form-factor.

Here’s to hoping the Motorola Q11 doesn’t hit market looking like the Motorola Alexander. One question, what happened to the Motorola Q10? Could the Motorola Atila be destined to fill that gap in the product lineup? Time will tell…
