Option HSPA ExpressCard

Option recently announced that it has started shipping a new wireless broadband ExpressCard exclusively developed for Vodafone. The new ExpressCard is designed to achieve peak HSDPA download speeds of 7.2 Mbps with HSUPA uploads at up to 5.76 Mbps.

First shipments have been delivered to Elisa, the Vodafone partner network in Finland and the world’s first commercial 3G HSPA 900 MHz operator. That being said it’s important to add that the ExpressCard also supports HSPA in the 900 MHz band to satisfy a need among some mobile operators in Europe and Australia.

And if you’re wondering how much will the ExpressCard cost once it hits the Vodafone markets, we’re sorry to disappoint you we have no answer at this stage. As soon as we hear something new, we’ll let you know, k?
