FCC approves AT&T’s Fuze (HTC Touch Pro)

AT&T Fuze gets FCC approvalWe can’t wait to get our hands on the HTC Touch Pro. It really doesn’t matter to us if we get our mitts on the unlocked HTC Touch Pro straight from HTC or AT&T (NYSE: T)’s re-branded variant (the AT&T Fuze). The point is, we want to get our finger-grease all over the QWERTY-keyboard toting HTC Touch Pro as soon as possible.

Alas, we’ll have to wait until the engineers at the FCC are done playing with the AT&T Fuze/HTC Touch Pro before us mortals can get a whack at the device. The good news is that the FCC may have just approved the AT&T Fuze for duty in the US. The FCC documents show that the handset in question bears the “Raphael” model name, which you may recall is HTC’s codename for the HTC Touch Pro. And, the mention of support for HSPA on the 850Mhz and 1900Mhz makes it safe to assume that this here handset is the AT&T Fuze.

We’ve been expecting AT&T to go live with their AT&T Fuze, and this latest thumbs-up from the FCC bodes well for a near-term release – hopefully before the year’s out.

With a little luck, we’ll be able to play with the HTC Touch Pro at CTIA. Stay tuned…
