Antenna Hungaria has won DTT (Digital Terrestrial TV) and Digital Radio rights for Hungary, it has been announced. Initial transmissions are scheduled to start in December to approximately 60% of the nation, with most signals being FTA (Free-to-air).
Great, I hear you say, but what about the Mobile TV? Well:
The mobile television (DVB-H) service will start later this year in and around Budapest (16% coverage). The service will also be available in seven other larger cities and the area around Lake Balaton by the end of 2009, the coverage will be 30%, which will reach 50% by 2012, said AH.
So it seems Antenna Hungaria has a good to amount to be rolling over the next 3-4 years – co-ordinating the service and physical rollout across Digital Terrestrial TV, Digital Radio, and Mobile TV should challenge their Logistics division, that’s for sure!
