velocity103 Velocity Mobile launches first WinMo handset

UK carrier Velocity Mobile has recently broken into the smartphone scene with a rather slick looking device, the velocity103. Wait, is that a trackball? Hmm… Check out their upcoming velocity111, coming up in Q3… I think we can see where these guys got some of their inspiration, no? Cling as I may to BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) fanboyism, these are actually some heavy-duty devices that stand on their own very nicely. The velocity103 features:

  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
  • Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM) Mobile Station Modem™ (MSM™) MSM7201™ chipset
  • GSM/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
  • UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 850, 1900, 2100
  • 640×480 VGA touch screen
  • 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM
  • Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS
  • 2.0 megapixel camera, 0.3 megapixel videoconferencing camera
  • TV/VGA out
  • MicroSD expansion slot

Pretty dang nice on the whole, and available for preoder from Expansys for $499.99, shipping sometime later this month.
