N95-8GB Software Update
OK so that was rather dull…. I just updated the N95-8GB to the latest v30 software, and really not that much has changed at all! In fact the only thing that I noticed DID happen was the Nokia Sync didn’t work properly and my handset displayed the phrase “System Error” – something I’ve never seen the N95-8GB do before, and which worried me slightly!
Dusan picked up before about the changes that had been enabled with v30, but there’s pratically nothing cosmetic. And here was me wondering that if the N96 was getting the iPlayer app, maybe, just maybe, Nokia might give us a whiff of some iPlayer goodness for the N95 variants….we can but wait!

Ben is a 10+ year veteran of the Mobile industry – starting his career
when SMS was a still a relatively new concept for most people (!), he has
now consulted on everything from bleeding-edge Mobile content, to the
next-gen accessories you might view it on. As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas!
He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently
became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years
when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to
'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make
your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device)
isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question
of why you continue to use it...
His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and
infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the
occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience
in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with
regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.

yeah, i think it was a rather pointless update, the boot time is faster but once it gets to the home screen, it flickers and hangs about 5-7 seconds, no fixes on the help and app manager memory full bug, if i activate the cam an close it in landscape, it flickers and shows some nasty squares of images from the cam until the shutter closes, gallery opening time hasn’t gotten any faster and i had the same “system error” message on boot.. i had to reset everything… AGAIN! i think it was related to either the iGo stowaway app or jbak taskman… anyways, i reinstalled everything, firstly, the stowaway app, which gave me no trouble at this point, and now it works just fine…one thing i noticed too is that the batt drains faster, i dunno if its ’cause all the reinstalling and reconfiguring… time will tell :S oh and the music player got faster and the sound i slightly better… and the MP simbols are blue now… yipeee!! now THAT’S worth the hassle.. ¬¬

in settings there is an auto rotate feature, like iPod touch / iPhone.
