Uh, my HTC has the android OS, the Iphone is not much different then M$, you have a pay as you go OS, while Android is based on the superior Linux Kernel OS. You Apple anti M$ guys are a joke, always giver your loyalty to an M$ like monopoly. I think Apple is the bigger monopoly, your only choice is their hardware.

guys ok the iphone is better if you just want a phone with a good looking screen, ipod touch integrated inside, app store on demand, and great new feautures and it's all simple. The htc fones win the meat on versatility but it's justs gets too slow for may and lags up for me with all my mods on the Mogul. I will be getting my iphone soon! Plus, I don't have time to do it anymore with Jazz Band, School, Band, Basketball, there's just no way to sit there on my computer flashing the ROMS and modding it every day. If you got time then HTC wins hands down but I need the iphone! Each phone has its own purpose which many people don't understand ONE FRICKEN PHONE CANNOT DO IT ALL! PICK AND CHOOSE PEOPLE! Gosh I mean seriously one fone cannot top all others off otherwise it will be a "brick" in your pocket and there will be so many fricken features that you screamed to Apple and hTC that your head will spin around in circles and fall off. You probably couldn't even make a phone call in under a minute going through all off the bogged down features you've spent hours creating in your bedroom. GUYS SERIOUSLY! If you don't got time Iphone's yours! If you got a lot a motivation HD and Pro 2 Kicks the Iphone's rear. For me I'm done customizing my phone. I WANT IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE: IPHONE!

guys this is a good battle but I'm going to have to go with the iphone. I'm about to get it and am tired of my gay Mogul. I hacked it and modded it out with touchFlo 2D aka Manilla 2D and tons of cool crap including custom ringers and stuff but it just got way too slow! I mean it gets so laggy and unresponsive because of the poor processing power plus it's very ugly. I put Skyfire on it but couldn't listen to music because it was too fricken laggy! I will go with the Iphone 3G for now and see if I like it. Mogul gets +11 on Versatility but -2 on speed with mods! Iphone I think will beb better plus app store is wicked. Integreated touch too and Nike RUn for me so yeah! My mogul has gotten pretty ton up too

The iPhone sucks man.
Windows Mobile Rocks.

I think people who doesnt know anything about hardware and software go only by the looks of the iphone.

And people who know whats up always chose other phones, such as windows mobile and blackberries.

I am a web developer for a pretty big company, i hang out with alot of business people. None of them have an iphone, they all have either windows mobile devices or blackberries.

iPhone fan boys think like 5 year olds, if one kid ones something the rest does too.

Be smart, think about your decisions. Windows mobile will always be the way too go!

iPhone fan boys might think they have everything on their phone. but the fat is that they lack everything even a brain.

For me, the best phone or PDA is the one that gives complete satisfaction to the users..... well i guess no need to xplain.. but if anyone insist, simple... whatever you want to do with ur phone, no limits, no stores, no jailbreaking, customize to however you want it to be... or even brek the phone and rearrange the parts inside (if possible, i mean simple mods), and there are still many things... and most especially, no MONOPOLY...
If HTC and other PDA's can do what iphone can...... how about "Iphone," can you do the same.. or just stucked in your style...

I dont get why people hate iPhone so much...Its much better, first of all it has a "store" free or not you can get thousands of apps, let me see some HTC do that... It doesnt allow 3rd party programs? Which world do you live in? Jailbreak takes 1 minute to complete and your world is under your fingertips. Not only jailbreak brings out any app for free, you can CUSTOMISE already very friendly UI. Top that HTC. Apple is a classic, they dominated mp3s and now they are dominating cell phones live with it. No copy and paste? Really? The new iPhone has much more than just copying and pasting... 3G network like no other, if you live in a city, your 3G is outstanding... AT&T does have 3G dead zones tho...is that a problem?? NO the new iPhone can be used with any carrier Verizon or AT&T also sprint and other but those arent as good...

So think again, but I'm telling you, Apple has done it again they have created a phone no1 can resist, but who cant have it, hate on it..

I have HTC Touch HD with SPB mobile shell installed as UI. The combination of the hardware and software makes it far superior phone in my openion than Iphone 3GS or any other smartphone.

SPB UI is fantastic and only cost A$35/- in addition to the cost of the phone simply download it and install the CAB file.

EXTREEMLY Happy with never using Windows mobile ever which runs silently in the ackground and never have to interface with it.

Go for a superior experience with HTC HD, Facebook interface (download app from windows mobile site free), direct video upload to Utube, 5MP camera good pics, windows mobile office, sync emails with Outlook, push emails, Skype, TomTom navigation works like a charm, download free TV App and other Apps from Free App WinMo site and much much more than iphone could ever do..

It's all about market share, guys. Ummm... who's selling the most phones? 1 billion downloads from the App Store in under 1 year from 80 countries worldwide! What other phone has as much market penetration and has done it in under 2 years? Uhhh... none, only the IPHONE 3G - End of story!

So many of the remarks here are pathetic, childish, and pathetic. These are two similar products but with different focuses. By which ever one best suits your needs and or preferences and stop bitching about the other one or about the people that chose the other one. Grow up!

On my phone (HTC Touch Pro) there are 3 things I do most often:

1- text/e-mail. Touch Pro has a keyboard

2- talk on the phone (all phones work fine)

3- listen to music/audiobooks

The feature that takes an iPhone off my list is the lack of stereo bluetooth. I love my bluetooth headphones, and I wouldn't use a phone that didn't support them.

Jables,

You talk as though the fact that a fully functional Windows based handheld shares the same hardware housing with a phone &/or camera renders 2 of the 3 functions undesirable just because cameras & computers can also be purchased exclusively for those functions.

That is simply not the case any more. I as well as many people I know utilize our Windows Based PDAs every bit as much for the computer aps & camera as we do the phone function, & it is becoming more prevalent by the hour as hand-held size devices function more & more like their desktop & laptop counterparts. HTC is one such device, comparing pretty well function-wise to their larger Windows based counterparts, whereas the IPhone does not compare very well at all as an actual computer to its Mac desktop & laptop counterparts.

5 megapix cameras on a fully functional PDA phone are starting to render some of the every day smaller designated cameras obsolete, unless you get into the more expensive digitals with more proprietary capabilities for uses close to or for professional photography. I know many people who have spent 100.00 to 100.00 for 4 or 5 mexapix cameras that are no better than the one on the HTC or Samsung Omnia.

As a gadget, IPhone is great. As a computer for aps and everything that goes with one, HTC takes the cake.

HTC is clearly the undisputed winner by virtue of the fact that the IPhone is not & has never been a true hand-held computer. It is a gadget...a good one at that, but a gadget.

In all fairness, it looks nifty, functions seamlessly as far as what it was designed for, but it is not even close to an actual computer. If apple ever comes out with a hand-held fully functional OS which runs more like a total computer, such as the Windows OS, we might have a debate.

As far as the Touch Pro is concerned, or the Pro II, that takes it to an even greater level of superiority over the IPhone. Fact is, you can't compare a touch screen key pad to a hard key pad for docs, texting, email, etc. The best device will incorporate both touch screen & hard key, which IPhone doesn’t have.

I am surprised that apple didn't come out originally with an actual hand-held computer running on an apple based OS rather than just a gadget for browsing, texting, viewing, etc. There is so much more to a computer, regardless of whether it is apple-based or MS based, than what the IPhone is, & Windows Mobile or the short lived Linux Zaurus hand-held have been the only 2 that have actually put one together in the hand-held category. Blackberry & Palm aren’t true all-encompassing systems as they have to integrate with Windows on a limited bases just to compete against Windows.

Where are all the aps you can find on a Mac lap or desk-tops that you cant find on the IPhone. The similarities exist between Windows laps & desks on the handhelds.

I have both the iphone and the HTC HD. In all fairness the HTC is a year newer so trying to compare the 2 is kinda pointless. Yea the iphone ui runs smoother but that's because it's doing less on the smaller screen. Every feature of the iphone has been improved on in the HTC HD. iPhone is really let down with the need for propriety s/w to dump tunes to it. The HTC can be seen on either my mac or pc like a thumb drive without additional s/w. Microsoft are up to their 6th generation of o/s now so the amount of available apps and development on the o/s makes the iphone about 4 years to late to be trying to compete in the PDA market. I guess thats why they called it the iphone and not the iPDA.
The iphone was/is a good phone still, maybe the next gen iphone will be king but for now the title goes to HTC.

So here we are, comments sections like this, bringing out out the worst in the fanboys.

So the Touch HD has a larger screen and more features? This = more bulk and weight. I want my phones to be portable.

Copy & Paste...eh? This is a phone we are talking about here, not a PC.

Screen resolution. Cool, so you can display more of a web page on the screen at once. Shame you can't read it. So, you have to zoom in...oh, wait, that's a pain in the backside on a Windows Mobile device. Multi-touch on the iPhone is a breeze to use.

More megapixels. Riiiiiight, and that means what to me, when I never, ever use mobile phones to take photos? See, I have a decent digital camera for that.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate on one over the other - you choose what you want, fanboyish or sensible. Me? I chose the iPhone 3G because the interface is streets ahead of anything else out there right now. Everything is really intuitive, compared to the convoluted menu-driven mess that is Windows Mobile. No amount of skinning can cover that. The iPhone 3G does exactly what it is desigend to do, and that is where its appeal lies. At the end of the day, it's a phone, and they are for making telephone calls on. The fact that I can surf the net, retrieve e-mail, use Google Earth on the go (haha, try that on you Touch HD), and download hundreds of free apps from the Apple Store is a pure bonus for me.
