When it comes to freeing your iPhone or iPhone 3G from Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s iron-fisted rule, Windows users typically get the short-end of the jailbreak-stick. Over the past couple years, Mac machines have had the honor of getting first crack at iPhone jailbreak solutions, with Windows machines taking at least a couple weeks to catch up. We’d love to tell you that times have changed, but then we’d be lying.

Still, it’s good to see the iPhone Dev Team bringing their latest iPhone OS jailbreak tool to Windows machines around the world. If access to your iPhone’s filesystem is something you

consider important, or you just want to make sure that you’ll be able to unlock your iPhone 3G if/when the iPhone Dev Team releases their unlock solution, you’ll want to get your iPhone 3G nice and “pwned.” QuickPwn 2.1 is now live!

You might recall that QuickPwn gained fame some time ago as the quick-and-easy jailbreak tool that doesn’t require a full iPhone-restore. Pwnage Tool, on the other hand, requires that the iPhone or iPhone 3G be fully restored – a lengthy process no matter how you slice it. With today’s announcement, the iPhone Dev Team and poorlad have opened up the iPhone 2.1 OS to Windows users.

Simply download the Windows version of QuickPwn and get to jailbreaking your iPhone 2.1 OS. The QuickPwn application is GUI-based, so pointing and clicking is about as complicated as it’s going to get. Find QuickPwn here, here, or here.

If Cydia and installer are not showing up try going to Settings/General/Restrictions once there enable restrictions and enter passcode. Hit the home button. go back to Settings/General/Restrictions and disable restrictions.

I know this sounds simple, but it worked for me.

Some guy/girl called center_99_99 over at modmyi.com posted this and it did work for me aswell.

The more regular problems with Cydia.app and Installer.app not showing up are well know. I ofcourse mean replace MobileInstallation and remove com.apple.mobile.installation.plist, as you might have read before.
