BlackBerry Storm: A Touchscreen Slider?

The Globe and Mail has posted a really interesting article that talks about the new Pearl Flip as a game-changer… And then moved on to talk a bit about the new BlackBerry Thunder. But what really caught my attention in this article is that the Globe and Mail speculated that RIM will release the Thunder and a ’second device which features both a touch-screen interface as well as a slide-out QWERTY keypad…known online as the Storm’. Really? That’s interesting is it not?
I suppose this would clear up the whole ‘Thunder’ and ‘Storm’ naming controversy. The BlackBerry Thunder would be the full touchscreen device… while the BlackBerry Storm would be a similar slider model. I don’t know, seems a little fishy to me, but we’ll see.

Although I’ve been holding out for a slider BlackBerry for awhile, I think we would have heard about the Storm having a full QWERTY keypad by now.
It doesn’t suprise me, with android now getting a lot of attention and with the htc touch diamond and pro doing the same sort of thing with an all touch, and also a touch with slide out keyboard, this would be a smart business move to compete with other very popular smartphones emerging on the market. Plus, rim knows that their core following is loves blackberry so much for their qwerty keyboards for e-mailing so they would want to make an alternative for those who don’t prefer an all touch device, after not EVERYONE likes the I phone style with no keyboard
I just spoke with a Verizon Exec. The slider rumor is just that a rumor.
The Storm is just another name for the Thunder, none of them will feature a physical keyboard.
