Bell Going Exclusive on BlackBerry Storm in Canada

BlackBerryNews has reported some news that will be very good news for most Canadians (like me, eh?). Telus had long been rumored to be the ones to carry the BlackBerry Storm 9530. But it looks like the CDMA rival Bell will indeed be carrying the Storm… But that’s not all.

According to an anonymous tipster: “Bell Mobility will be in fact releasing the Storm in mid Q4/early Q1. Also it will be exclusive for 6 months to the Bell system. So Telus will have to wait.”

Bell must have shelled out the cash for this one. An exclusivity deal on the Storm could be huge for them. No doubt this is part of their plan, seeing as they have recently launched a re-branding campaign in Canada. I’m seeing their commercials, new logo and all sorts of Bell propaganda up here all the time. Seems to me like Telus never steps up to the plate. They’re going to have to one of these days…

At any rate, this comes from a tipster… so file it under unconfirmed rumors for now.
