Earlier this month the rumour was floated out that Nokia’s flagship enterprise handset, the E71, would be coming to Canadian service provider Fido. Well, some hard and fast proof has been dug up on Fido game deck and image catalogue, showing the E71 rather prominently. Rogers was caught in a similarly sticky situation with the BlackBerry Pearl Flip (8220) in August, although there was the possibility of it simply being a typo for the 8110. In either case, having played with the E71 a little bit, I can say this is a reasonable competitor to the Bold – it’s packing all of the features in a slimmer profile and a tougher body, even though it might be lacking the snappy BlackBerry OS. Lucky for Rogers that they’ll will win whichever way a businessman goes.
