HTC Touch Pro due on Telus this week

The HTC Touch Dual came out on Telus the other week, but that Best Buy ad still had the HTC Touch Pro on there. Never fear, rumors and blurrycam pictures prove that it’ll be coming around sometime this week for $299 on a 3-year contract. The Touch Pro is simple step up from Telus’ existing Touch Diamond by slapping a slide-out QWERTY keypad on there. Whether or not that’s worth an extra $150 is entirely your call.

Check your sources; the Pro is not a simple step up from the Diamond.
ROM goes up from 256MB to 512MB. RAM goes up from 192MB to 288MB. Diamond is a GPS ready device while Pro has an internal GPS antenna. Pro has TV out; Diamond does not. Diamond has 900 mAh battery; Pro comes with 1340 mAh. Storage on Pro is expandable via Micro SD; not available on the Diamond.
You got to admit that’s worth an extra $150. I’ve been waiting to replace my P4000 but it’s been an excruciating wait for it to come to Calgary.
Right you are, iBol!
I didn’t want to get into the specific details, but for the average consumer, the Pro really is essentially the diamond with an added slide-out keyboard. Still, you make good points all around.
Another note, the Diamond and Pro are BOTH aGPS devices. It sounds like you are saying that the Diamond does not have a built-in GPS receiver, but in fact, if does have an GPS receiver.
