I didn’t want to get into the specific details, but for the average consumer, the Pro really is essentially the diamond with an added slide-out keyboard. Still, you make good points all around.

Diamond has 900 mAh battery; Pro comes with 1340 mAh. Storage on Pro is expandable via Micro SD; not available on the Diamond. You got to admit that's worth an extra $150. I've been waiting to replace my P4000 but it's been an excruciating wait for it to come to Calgary. Check your sources; the Pro is not a simple step up from the Diamond.
