Sony Ericsson’s Russia office has a new general director. Starting from yesterday, October 1st, this post was taken by Craig Steyn Jacobs, who “brings a wealth of international management experience in consumer goods and paper industry.”

What’s interesting about this is that the guy doesn’t come from the IT industry nor telecommunications. Rather, he proved himself as head of Mondi Business Paper Sales CIS. During his tenure, the company’s turnover was increased that much that Russia is now most important office for Mondi Business Paper as a whole.

Prior to joining Mondi Business Paper CIS, Craig held various positions in a number of units of Coca-Cola Russia.

Mr. Jacobs supersedes Paul Zentrih, who decided to left the company after spending half a year in the Russian office and 8 years in Sony Ericsson as a whole.
