Back in early September Will told us about the Samsung T919 and its expected launch into the marketplace in the near future. Looks like the debut for the new device is almost here.

Release dates and pictures have arrived for your jonesing and viewing pleasure. The T919 is actually called the ‘Behold’ (strange name?) and comes with a 5MP camera on-board. When will it hit the street? Look for it on T-Mobile on November 10.

Reports have the device setting you back $149, but as with most cost estimates I’d file that in the ‘maybe’ category for now. Prices have a way of changing, especially once you factor in rebates sometimes offered by the carrier.

  • Kenneth

I work for a tmobile retail store and I love this phone… yes the G1 came out but I want something slim I can touch!!!

  • Coqui_ta

Is Nov 10th a U.S.A. date? or is Europe date?

  • Ben

oh yeah I have been waiting on this phone as well. I like the G1 but it’s such an ugly phone I think they could of made it more sleek and styles. I will be rolling with the Samsung t919 BEHOLD when it’s released.

I wonder if Tmobile will be getting the Sony Ericsson Xperia x1 I heard rumors of this? That’s another phone i’m craving?

  • BillyBoat

I’m REEEALY wantin’ a new Razr phone. Love it. My old one was great but was pink.. want to upgrade to silver grey. V3 Lover they are the best forget the rest – get a razor you’ll love it

  • regand

i am curious as to how efficent it will be to have a full touch keyboard.. i am excited about it but cautious as samsung is kinda entering some uncharted territory and i dont want to be the one to work out all the initial bugs…

  • rdteagle

I got the G1, used it for a few days and found out I had to change my phone plan service, I wasn’t happy about that, because i’d ask several times if i’d have if i got the G1 and i was told no. I am returning the G1 and found out samsung was coming out with this Behold, and I was told the phone would work with my current plane, so i hope that’s true.

  • TiM0

This phone [Samsung Behold] have actually been in use for over a year in the UK and other parts of Europe on T-Mobile’s foreign networks. It’s been tested and has only undergone some minor changes to be compatible with T-Mobile USA’s new 3G network.

  • mizzthang

if any one works at a t-mobile can you please tell me if it will come out in pink omg im going crazy that it will just come in brown iI already have a brown phone

  • Melissa

I work for T-Mobile….yes it comes in pink and also in black….its so small but super sweet

about the G1….u will be able to keep your plan, but take the g1 bundle off and substitute it wth a text message bundle and a data bundle (depending on how often you go online)

the Behold is 3g, but not being considered an “internet” phone, but more of a HIGH END cam phone….

we had the samsung rep come in w demos….played w it for a bit and loved it!

we have a handful of SICK new phones coming out over the next few months….so excited!

  • Amber

My husband just told me last night that hes getting me samsung behold in 2 weeks and after looking at the pics and all the comments i cant wait to hold it now.

  • Sammie

Will the phone come out in pink right away? (as in on release date they will both black and pink?)

  • mizzthang

ommggg thank you so much i cant wait til moday. ok what new phones are coming out lol will they be touchscreen i wish you worked here in houston cause these reps down here dont know nothing gosh lol. I want more info on phones please email me. Tweetydancer03@yahoo.com. I hate when i get a phone then a month a two later away better phone comes out lol. Its just like with coach purses lol. Please i am a gadget freak.

  • D1

I work for T-Mobile as well, and the G1 first and foremost is a great phone. It is open source and does everything the Iphone does. The Behold is a sweet phone and has components that no other phone has as well, including the iphone. An important thing for people to know is that you actually are REQUIRED to have a g1 data pack that ranges from $24.99 to $34.99, so disregard whatever the Melissa chick is saying on the 4th of November. I don’t think she works for T-Mobile bc if she did, then she would have known that. As far as the Behold coming in different colors, right now there is only one. Just because the Samsung rep comes to a call center with a different color phone, doesn’t mean that it will be immediately released. After all, there is a white G1 that is expected out, and it hasn’t been released as of yet. The Behold will be able to work with your current rate plan, but expect to have to add a data feature for the internet capabilities…. any other questions? Get at me on yahoo im: Prettyeyedboi44

  • Jake

I was considering this phone but I spoke to a T-mobile rep about the G1 phone and since I did not want the data package, which is required (as D1 says, disregard Melissa airhead), he recommended waiting until Nov. 10 to get this one. He did not know the price but said that it will only come out in BLACK with Silver backing for now and it DOES NOT HAVE WIFI, which turned me off to the phone. It is a copy of the F480 from europe which also has no Wifi and is a nice “dumbphone” but the wifi should have been included. maybe it will be cheaper because of no Wifi. Good for the girlfriend (or boyfriend) who just wants a cool looking phone and not a gadget person.

  • Dyna

Hey D1 or anybody who works for t-mobile…. will TMO carry the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1? If yes, when? will it be by the end of this month…

  • Natalie

Hi.. does anyone who works at T-Mobile know whether the “behold” will be able to play youtube videos or not? if so please message me at jordan23luvr@aol.com or im me at yahoo at jordan_8803 please and thank you!!

  • wassim awada

I CANT WAIT UNTIL MONDAY!…… IM GETTING THE PHONE, AND I HEARED THAT ITS A GREAT PHONE, AND IT HAS BETTER FEATURES THAN THE IPHONE!!!!!!! =]

  • Annie

I cant wait for this phone! I WILL get it, but im just concerned about the price. Any estimates out there? It comes out tomarrow, so I guess I’ll find out then, but still, anything can help

  • Patricia

The Behold does come out on Nov 10th and the phone comes in 2 colors rose pink/black and brown/black. I have used the phone at the store yesterday, and it’s an awesome phone, the only downside to the phone so far is the my 5faves is hard to drag/touch (very minor problem)…. The camera is awesome, has a flash just like a regular camera and the pics come out beautiful.

Right now the retail pricing is not out yet, but a tmobile rep told me it was gonna be $400 outright,,,,, $149.99 with 2 year contract, and $199.99 with a 1 year contract….

Also, even though the behold doesnt come with a stylus, a stylus does work with it….. As far as the pricing of the data plans, there is no price on that as of yet!!

  • Katrina

I got the phone today the “light pink” its a cute phone but it does not come with too many options on it, not too many ringtones and only 1 video, its pretty much plain as far as features and yes you have to subscribe to the service for 20.00 per month or you wont get the 50.00 rebate, I paid 225.00 at t-mobile with the 2 year concract and all the taxes and activation charges. There is a 50.00 rebate so yes it will cost you 149.00 after rebates. GPS on it so far is very slow and there is no WIFI internet will only work if you subscribe to the tmobile plan.

  • your mom

Well you have a 14 days buyers remorse period, if you dont like it, take it back.

  • Mariah

So as far as the G1 and the Behold, my friend bought the G1 and she said she didn’t like it. She said the camera is crappy and that you can not zoom and there is no flash, which sucks if you use zoom and all that. She also said that her screen wasn’t working right. But that was one of the 1st G1′s made in the U.S. so there’s going to be problems of coarse.
I am getting the Behold in maybe a week or two and I am so so so excited because everybody that has it says it’s way better than the iphone! And my friend has the iphone and is so so so jealous =] That makes me happy because I’ll finally have a better phone than her. Awesome! =]] The camera on the phone can zoom and change the color and the keyboard is awesome as heck. If you have ever seen the blackberry storm for verizon than you are in luck with the behold. It is just like it.

But I would overall recommend the Behold, I guess it just depends on what you want in a phone.

  • baria

guys G1 is good for data services its not for fun and taking pictures, secondly its come with andtroid with is pretty kool you can download as many apps as you want and its come with edge/wifi so it work pretty good. back to camera andtroid stop releasing many apps a day they will lauch more apps in 1st quater of 2009. they are working with adobe so in near future you can watch live tv on g1
now about behold nice phone agree it you just want touch screen phone, they dont have that many apps, bluetooth is not that great, not wifi means no data service phone is good for nothing
i rather pay 179+data fee for G1 than paying 200+ just for touch screen
you guys are smart so before buying think touch screen with no feature and only kool camera or average camera with millions of nice feature. think hard before buying

  • Michael

    Hi guys,
I am getting my husband a new phone for his business trip this weekend (early xmas gift) but I am not sure which one to get. He likes to do the new Myspace games in which you have to download apps. If anyone out there knows which phone I should get him, could you email me and let me know? Especially if you work for T-Mobile. He is really interested in the G1 and really likes the Behold. I just don’t want to get him the Behold and find out it will not download apps. I already understand the extra $20 a month and I’m fine with that. Please, someone out there… HELP??? Thank you!

um just ordered the behold…..full price is around 420…but if u are a new customer or if u have used your entire 2 year contract its only 149 99 plus tax which came out to be 162 17….so ya the regular price is a pretty penny

  • Tmo Dash

I’ve had the T-Mobile Dash for a couple of years now – and I’m ready for a change. I’m pretty apprehensive since the dash has worked out well for me – as far as functionality is concerned. I’ve been going back and forth between the Behold and the G1. Does anyone have any input as far as how either one – or both of these phones – compares to the dash. More of a “functions” comparison – I know that these phones have significant difference from the dash. The dash has WIndows mobile 6.0, and Microsoft applications -so I’m able to review and edit work documents. These are the types of items I would like to hear about on Both the G1 and the Behold. Any input would be helpful…….Thanks…………..

  • Dewana

Do you actually need internet service for the Behold T-mobile phone to work properly?

  • brasiliandime

hey guys yes to use the internet you do have to pat 20 bucks extra a month.

  • Jws11

I was wondering if you actually have to get the data plan for the behold even if you don’t want Internet.

  • seth

i read this whole page pretty much.. really useful stuff. but i’d also like to know if you have to have the internet. i love the thought of a touch screen, as well as the 16G capability, and pretty much everything about the phone. It’s just i don’t really have a use for that feature (internet) on my phone. seth_edelinski@hotmail.com

  • Serj

I was disappointed with the e-mail. No Hotmail or MSN, even though its like the most commonly used emails.
