3G USB dongle docking station, from T-Mobile

Hexus Lifestyle have an interesting story, which they note originally came from The Register – essentially one about a docking station for 3G USB Broadband modems on T-Mobile!

Now this sounds like one darn good idea:

The Mobile Broadband Share Dock allows multiple users – although T-Mobile recommends no more than three of them at any one time – to share the HSDPA 3G connection that’s picked-up by the purple-ended dongle. The unit uses Wi-Fi to to provide wireless workers with a web connection.

There is apparently also software to get each user set up (which is good), but the dock only works with the T-Mobile dongle (perhaps not so good for now if you have another Operator’s dongle – but expect other OpCo’s to follow suit…)

The dock should be out pretty soon, and like with the dongle usually, cost will vary according to contract chosen.
