Samsung’s all-touchscreen, dual-SIM equipped D980 handset has been officially announced in Russia. The stylish device has just a few keys and a large 2.6-inch QVGA touchscreen, making us think of it as a F480 with two SIM card slots.

Other specs include tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio (900/1800/1900 MHz), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR connectivity support, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, media player, FM radio, document reader, and a microSD memory expansion slot. Lack of 3G support may be a dealbreaker for many, but since 3G is still not widespread across Russia, I doubt it will impact the sales. The upsides that include a great camera, place for two SIM cards and Samsung’s easy to use TouchWiz UI will certainly overtake that single downside (lack of 3G), at least until the D980 reaches other parts of Europe.

The exact release date and price is still not announced…
