BlackBerry Storm advertising in full swing

By Simon Sage on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at 6:48 AM PST In BlackBerry, Mobile Advertising, Verizon, Vodafone

Last week some modest teasers and the odd ad spot were sighted, but it looks like RIM is pushing their touchscreen-packing BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm in full force now. The lengthy Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) UK video above demonstrates all the main features of the BlackBerry 9500 and gives us a pretty good feel for how the new OS will run. Some of the orientation transitions aren’t especially smooth, but on the whole the Storm runs pretty well. As for Verizon (NYSE: VZ), they’ve placed a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal. This is certainly some of the more aggressive marketing we’ve seen for BlackBerry in awhile, but considering how big of a leap this is for RIM, we would expect them to put all their weight behind the launch. Keep an eye out for this one in early November.
