Reliance Mobile offers BBC World News streaming

Reliance Mobile (an Indian Mobile Network Operator) has partnered with BBC Worldwide to offer the BBC World News channel though 3G streaming. Reliance has had a (reliable, presumably) streaming service running since 2004, with a variety of content – this deal is aimed at delivering 24/7 news coverage.
On it’s own, possibly not the biggest impact story, but do consider it in the global strategy that the BBC is now adopting, of rolling out it’s services on multiple platforms, over multiple mediums – methinks we’ll see even more of these deals as time goes on, with a variety of partners – we only have to think back a couple of weeks to remember BBC and the iPlayer going on Nokia’s N96….
