Sprint delays HTC Touch Pro

If you waited for October 19th to grab the HTC Touch Pro from Sprint (NYSE: S), forget about it. The CDMA mobile operator said that HTC’s full QWERTY keyboard equipped smartphone will be late. The new release date is not set, aside from “later in October/early November.”
Here’s what Sprint has to say about it:
“Sprint expects to slightly delay launch of the Touch Pro by HTC to ensure we have adequate inventory in all channels before making the device commercially available. Customers can expect the device to become available in select national retailers by the end of the month and then in all Sprint sales channels including online at www.sprint.com and Sprint Stores by early November.”
The way I see it, if you’ve been waiting for the Touch Pro this far, few more weeks shouldn’t be a problem. Or am I wrong?

Argh! shouldn’t be a problem? It is a problem because I had my hopes up to get the phone this Sunday. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt so much if they had announced the delay a month ago but not even a week until the phone’s announced launch date and they pull this? Can anyone tell me what are the national retailers so I can get the phone as soon as possible? I am hurting because I was hoping to finally cure myself of the crippling company known as Verizon and this dumb razr which verizon has made into a shell of what it could be.

Yeah it is a big deal, I need to have my number poted before my phone gets cut off because I have to pay the bil on my cell phone for another month so i can keep my same number. This sucks…. Oh well, I’ll go to verizon and just get the voyager i been wanting
Folks ever wonder how and why do all these cellular carriers lower the price so very much?
No, Its not because they sell you a contract with it! But mainly because they con you into
thinking its only a locked version of one much more expensive that after a while they would
even give you an un-locked code to it. BUT, Now HERES The main catch here is what no one
has ever revealed that first of all not only is it a locked version, BUT a severely butchered
version lacking all the full memory, in most cases lacking a 3G video conferencing front camera,
a much lower speed processor which they make a special deal with the phones manufacturer
in order to cut severe corners in the price of the original. Having most un-educated customers
totally conned out of there money not too mention that should they even opt to come out of
there contract they even charge them an additional penalty fee, wow is that one major sad
scenarion or what folks? And yet no one isnt getting on no ones case, why ? Simple there is too
much profit to be made on there bahalf.
If I may recommend always look up what ever phone you like to the original unlocked version
listed in http://www.gsmarena.com and then check over all the specs to see exactly what has the carrier
removed out of the model that your getting that you may feel is a certain phone you maybeen in love
with but in actuallity its a almost a clone made by the original company for the carrier but no guts in it.

Original HTC Diamond has a qualcomm 528 Mhz processoer, the Sprint version only has a 200 Mhz. Processor, the original unlocked Diamond has a secondary fron video cam for video conferencing the Sprint version does not.
The original HTC Diamond has much more memory then the Sprint version, Now we all know why we save a few good dollars off this phones getting them off carriers. Its because they have them practically taken apart and stripped of all there guts inside.
Shouldnt someone be boycotting all this companies?
Another very fine example, T-Mobile sells a Nokia 5310 Express Music Candy bar phone for $49.95 Plus $36.00 Hook up fee, Plus tax which would come out to about $100.00 with being locked in a Contract for 2 years and should you decide to breach it they charge you $200.00 Penalty so in actuallity your paying a total of $200.00 for a phone that is LOCKED, less memory less features then an original that only sells for $186.00 complete and unlocked with no contract from http://www.buy.com
People I ask you are we americans letting this companies make such fools of us? We need to do something about it!
So from now on when ever you get a disconnect , dropped call, and bad static call the carrier advice them your upholding your contract with them, by you always paying your bills but they are in breach of contract and that they have to send you, your owed early termination fee of $200.00, hey after all what maybe good for the goose needs to be good for the Ganda!

Please know that It was suppossed to state that for a Nokia 5310 At T-Mobile you pay $50.00 Then a #36.00 Activation fee, then tax adding to some $100.00 with being locked in a 2 year agreement. I dont think people who buy from the service provider are being conned yeah its at a lower price but you get what you pay for. If the person wanted all the features of the original manufacturer they should buy unlocked but if they like the service provider one better why not? Customers getting conned would be paying unlocked prices for these locked phones. Like the average cost of the HTC Touch Pro unlocked is around $850. Sprints has less features so its less money so how is that conning? And I like to be able to access the features from my service provider from my phone like sprint TV, Sprint DigitalLounge, etc.
And you cant use the video calling feature here because no provider has a plan to accomodate it so it would be a waste. And as far as the Nokia goes, of course its $186 its a Nokia, who wants that ugly thing?

OK, you stated that there isnt any conning!
With all due respect maybe instead of looking to possibly argue this point, consider that the average consumer first of all is not even aware that the carrier phone is even LOCKED to work with any outside different Simm cards especially from abroad, havint to pay fees as high as $4.99 a minute depending on the country or even as high as paying $8.99 a minute just to call a sat phone number anywhere whther it maybe in the USA, or abroad.
Additionally you stated that the Original flavor has more features and more money, technically right and wrong as well.
Please do let me explain, first hand a carrier fully strippes a phone down to its are essentials mostly in this country only, such as a secondary video camera, which agree America doesnt have the feauture in use by providers but still can be in use here as well by simply downloading skype and making skype calls on a wifi cell then yes the secondary cam will come into action if it existed.
Then remember that not only are you stripping a phone of features but should a consumer find an emergency to cancel they will be additionally stuck having to pay a severe penalty fee which lifts the discounted phone price by a good $200.00 and still not giving it any additional of the lost stripped features. Then should he or she decide to keep the discounted phone model to use on the service having to be paying an additional $30.00 a month multiplied by 24 = $720.00 Plus taxes almost another $200.00 depending on the state you reside at that point your forced to pay a price of almost double with no feautures at all on .
Not too even mention the phones original processor has been replaced with a much lower priced one and much slower one, the memory greatly reduced and even the quality severely cheapened, there really is a lot to really think about here.
With all due respect you sound like your making poor excuses becuase you maybe a dealer for one of these companies.
