Of course it is. Whether its Craigslist or eBay, you can count on some shady character to hock the latest carrier-branded handsets before they’re even delivered to retail stores. The latest such unreleased mobile phone to be put up for auction on eBay is the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) 9000 Bold. This BlackBerry Bold comes complete with AT&T (NYSE: T) branding and packaging – go figure.
Sure, the BlackBerry 9000 Bold has been available for some time now. Unless, that is, you’re in the US. In that case, you’ve been swooning over in-hand pictures and reviews of the latest BlackBerry smartphone. With that high-resolution HVGA display, GPS, WiFi, and 3G data connectivity, the BlackBerry 9000 Bold gets the job done, and gets it done in style. But, thanks to unspecified problems on AT&T’s network, the BlackBerry Bold has been delayed longer than we care to think about. So much so that this eBay auction might actually grab the attention of a healthy handful of Bold fans.
So, for all you BlackBerry fanatics in the US that just can’t muster the patience to wait until November 4 for AT&T to launch the BlackBerry 9000 Bold, head on over to eBay and put in a bid for this AT&T BlackBerry Bold. Be forewarned, you’ll have to pay to play – in this case, the game of choice is “Be the first kid on the block with the Bold.”
