Motorola i9 iDEN phone cleared by the FCC

Back in January, we talked about the Motorola CABO, the RAZR2-like iDEN phone. Well, it’s almost here folks, as we’ve spotted the device marked as the i9 crossing the FCC territory.
Thanks to the FCC’s secret-revealing procedure, we now have more to report on what seems as the ultimate iDEN clamshell. Expect a 3.1 megapixel camera, built-in GPS, push-to-talk capability (naturally), and morphing touch-sensitive keys on the front that change based on the application you’re using.
I’m not sure just how many i9s they could sell, but I know there are not that many iDEN network users. And if Motorola (NYSE: MOT) plans to return to the path of growth, they better focus their energy on GSM and CDMA networks. That’s where the money is.

Stupid comment( if Motorola plans to return to the path of growth, they better focus their energy on GSM and CDMA
networks.), Motorola make huge money via iDEN handset, but lose money in GSM and CDMA!
They used to rule the GSM and CDMA market with RAZR. That was their cash cow, they need a similar hit phone for the mass market in order to grow.
