Sprint CEO Dan Hesse says Android not good enough for Sprint

It’s not all that unexpected that the first-ever Android smartphone would need some additional refinement and development before we can call it a huge success. Likewise, we’re still in Android’s early stages, so it stands to reason that improvements to the OS couldn’t hurt.
As such, Sprint (NYSE: S)’s top-dog, Dan Hesse, feels the Google (NSDQ: GOOG) mobile platform isn’t yet up to Sprint’s standards.
Dan Hesse told the National Press Club in Washington that the Android OS wasn’t yet “good enough to put the Sprint brand on it.” Although the Sprint CEO promised to release an Android handset sometime in the future, the platform just isn’t polished enough at this point for Sprint to get jiggy wtih Android.
You hear that, Android? Better get your rear in gear if you want the No. 3 US wireless carrier to back your wares.
