Motorola (NYSE: MOT)’s recently-appointed co-CEO, Sanjay Jha, is paring down Moto’s OS support to three: Windows Mobile for business, P2k (their proprietary OS) for the low end, and Android to fill in the gaps. This means thousands of Motorola developers who are not related to these platforms are at risk of getting the Pink Slip of Doom. We had already heard that Motorola’s working on some kind of social-networking-centric Andoid device, and they were cranking up their Android division a fair bit, but not to the extent that other OSes would be shoved out the door. It does make sense to focus your efforts, though, and it’s not like the folks at Moto are strangers to layoffs
