France’s SFR launches two HSPA-enabled MIDs

With mobile operators gradually adding laptops to their offering, we’re glad to report that the similar thing has started happening with Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). That being said, French SFR has recently added two new HSPA-enabled MIDs to its offering.
The first of the two, SFR M! PC Pocket 3G+, features a 4.8-inch touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Intel Atom CPU and 4GB of integrated memory. On the other hand, the little-bit-thinner Archos 3G+ sports the same kind of touchscreen (4.8-inch) with storage capacity going up to 30GB. Linux is running the show, and Option provided necessary HSPA embedded modules to make these babies sing along SFR’s 3G network.
It’s a neat move from SFR to make these devices more appealing to the general public. In that context, we expect to see Sprint (NYSE: S) launching the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N810 WiMax in the near future.
